Sacred Sounds / Sacred Spaces

Sacred Sounds Sacred sounds can take many forms -- from a single drum to a choir of many people -- whatever gives voice to the expression of one's spiritual yearnings. In this series, you'll meet professional musicians, spiritual leaders and others who use sound to touch the heart and move the spirit.

This month Sacred Spaces Big Bethel is the oldest African-American congregation in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. The church has a rich history and we learn from the church's pastor and historian how this congregation continues to be a beacon for many in Atlanta. Also, for over a hundred years the Log Cabin Community Church has been a staple in the community, and a meeting place for friends, family, strangers and everyone in between. Sacred Spaces takes a moment to learn about this quaint church, as the congregation celebrates its homecoming.
