This month On December 7, 2016, the Blank Family Foundation sponsored a screening at the Lovett School in Atlanta, bringing together interfaith and community groups to watch Newtown. The poignant documentary chronicling the story of the grieving families and traumatized community devastated by the shootings in Newtown, Connecticut in 2012. In this edition of Keynotes, John Bare of the Blank Family Foundation moderates a discussion on community efforts to end gun violence. This episode features Kim Snyder, the director of the Newtown documentary; Rabbi Peter Berg, senior rabbi at The Temple and co-founder of Georgia Outcry, an interfaith coalition working to end gun violence; Linda Degutis, Adjunct Professor at Emory University and former director of the National Center for Injury, Prevention and Control; and, Imam Plemon El-Amin, Imam Emeritus at Atlanta Masjid of Al Islam and co-founder of Georgia Outcry.
