Join martial arts instructor Michael Issa as we take a journey through Dao-Yin, a stretching-focused subset of Qigong. In each program, we travel step-by-step through each move in the Lian Gong 18 set. Each episode will begin with a warmup, present in detail a few new movements, and close with a stretching routine composed of both these new moves and moves from earlier episodes. Like Tai Chi, Qigong is an ancient Chinese calisthenics that combines graceful, stretching movements with slow, measured breathing. Research has shown that these exercises effectively reduce stress and anxiety, in addition to protecting against disease, aging and mental health problems.
