PLACING A PROGRAM ON THE AIB CABLE NETWORK

We appreciate your interest in airing a program on the AIB Cable Network.

A non-profit organization or local congregation, with non-profit status, must sponsor all programs.  This means that for an individual to place a program on the AIB Cable Network, he or she would need to obtain a letter from a local congregation or non-profit organization endorsing his or her program and stating the congregation or non-profit organization would like to see the program on the AIB Cable Network.  This same procedure applies to a non-local congregation.

MEMBERSHIP

There is an annual membership fee, which entitles the programmer to reduced airtime rates.  The membership fee is due and payable before the first program airs and each year thereafter on the contract anniversary date.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

If you plan to tape your own program or hire someone to do it for you, we will need to view a tape or DVD you have produced to be sure it meets our technical requirements before we can discuss airtimes with you.  AIB requires at least two business days to review all submissions.  Please make sure there is only one program per tape/disc, with no false starts.  Also, please ensure that the tape/disc and the case are labeled correctly with the organization's name and total run time of the program. (28:30 or 58:30). Total run time does not include any bars/tone/black video)

PRODUCTION

If you are planning to produce your program in AIB's Studio, you will need to work with our Manager of Production to schedule studio time.  All production fees are due and payable at the time of production unless other arrangements have been made.  You may at this time select an airtime an sign a contract with AIB.  However, we can only hold airtime for two weeks unless it is contracted and paid for in advance.  We strongly urge programmers to have at least two programs produced before scheduling airtime.

If you are considering investing in equipment to tape your programs we advise you to invest in the highest quality equipment your budget will allow.  The technical quality of your program communicates a great deal about your congregation or non-profit organization to the viewer.

AIB's Station Manager and/or Chief Engineer will make the final decision as to whether a program meets AIB's technical requirements.  Even an excellent message is not likely to be heard positively by the viewers if the technical quality of the program is poor.

We also recommend you consider a digital format for your program.  We accept all three digital formats available: DVC Pro, which is considered to give the best quality, DVCam and DV.  The industry movement is towards the digital platform and any of these three formats will be an improvement over analog systems.

We at AIB are happy to answer questions and to assist you in any way we can.  We look forward to airing your program in the near future.
